I haven't looked at this, yet, but I have checked in the changes I've
built up over the last few months for both Vim+ECL and ecl-slime. See
http://theclapp.org/repos/ for both. (Vim will require a recompile, I
think.) I don't know if it'll fix the problem you described, but I
figured checking in my work was the least I could do.
I replaced Brad's ecl-slime repository with my own. Brad's repository
is still available in the above directory in the obvious place, i.e.
http://theclapp.org/repos/ecl-slime-brad.
