[Gardeners] TeX in Climacs

Hi all.
I've been lurking since the creation of this list.
Here's a project that I dream about:
I am a mathematician and as such I write a lot of LaTeX.
AucTeX and Preview are very nice packages and they make Emacs my favourite
TeX editor.
AucTeX adds lots of convenience to writing TeX, just think of any good
package for programming language support, and Preview takes parts of a
document, typesets them on the fly and replaces the TeX code with the
results.
This works often, but it really starts TeX for every single job.
Therefore, the replacements are far from instantaneous, even without
loading all of the nice LaTeX packages I like to use.
What I have in mind is something similar for Climacs.
I want a Climacs that
* has functionality similar to AucTeX
* shows TeX source and can replace it with TeX output
* does that using any included TeX packages
* uses only TeX source
Mostly the last two points are keeping me from using TeXmacs. The last
one is the killer since it is necessary for cooperation with other
people.
Same for LyX.
I imagine that Climacs is, because of the nice McCLIM layer in the
background, more
suitable than Emacs to using TeX output in the editor.
I further imagine that the PyTeX **TeX daemon** makes the instantaneous Texing
possible. See http://www.pytex.org
So, why don't I just start programming?
A) I suck at getting things off the ground.
B) I need people with Climacs and McCLIM experience, at least for a
sample program
to demonstrate how to display TeX output in Climacs.
The perfect situation for me:
Someone leads such a project, many people program and I program, too.
Cheers,
Tucho
