Yeah we've done exactly what you're suggesting there.

lispbuilder-sdl is CFFI bindings for SDL and lispy macros which works
on most lisp implementations and OS's. There's also a lot of other
libraries supported and Frank Buss has added lex, yacc parser
libraries and a win32 wrapper.
