Dunno. I just followed Emacs's lead here.

Nope. That's a consequence of some flag or another the install foo
that I cargo culted from Emacs.

Probably, with the appropriate hacks to the installer. Probably
turning it into a drag-this-folder-wherever install is a better bet
though.

Well, some of this may get better when I next upgrade the Emacs
sources I'm using; I just rebuilt my personal emacs the other day and
the fonts seemed to have changed. Maybe for the better.

This is due, I think to some small change Kevin made to the build
scripts that he shouldn't have. I'm working with him on that. In the
meantime you can go chmod /Applications/Lispbox/acl80_express to 0777
and you should be good, I think.
