Hello Gardners,
Just another intro :) I'm currently a CS undergrad at berkeley, and
(needless to say) I'm very interested in LISP. Most of my experience is in
C/++, Java, Perl, and various web-languages (JavaScript, XML, etc.). My
main interests are graphics and software engineering (thus, LISP!). I think
I'm pretty good at writing clear documentation as well, so hopefully I can
help there.
I would initially like to help out in the FFI front. Doing graphics, I do
need the speed of C++, but it would be great to have LISP do a lot of the
high-level string pulling, with high performance C++ puppets. But as of
yet, I still haven't been able to get FFI working.
So perhaps I could team up with an expert at FFI who could help me figure it
out, and then I could write a FAQ on it from a newbie's POV. Then later,
maybe we could assemble some FFI package that brings together useful tools
(like a .H parser) so doing FFI is as easy as in other languages (e.g.
Python). I know I would personally find it useful for my graphics projects!
So lemme know if u're an "expert" who would like to help, or another newbie
with similar interests.
And of course, thanks to Peter Seibel for his awesome book (it convinced me)
and for founding this project!
