[Gardeners] Lisp resources of the future

Though Common Lisp is not usually seen as a teaching language, and it
has a perfectly serviceable standard, It might be nice to have a
reference interpreter of a subset of Common Lisp powerful enough to
implement the full standard.

I was thinking of starting along the lines of:
http://home.pipeline.com/~hbaker1/MetaCircular.html. The interpreter
would emphasize clarity and concision over speed, and be well annotated.

It would be a resource for newbies trying to wrap their heads around
Common Lisp's more complicated semantics (compared to scheme), and also
could be a focal point for more experienced users to talk about
ambiguities in the standard.

I suppose this goes a bit beyond making things tidy so Lisp is easy to
use for "real" projects, but is there any interest in seeing such a
thing happen?
