Might I suggest that we consider Gtk as a target GUI
 - Runs on most OSes
 - Simple C interface to bind against
 - Easy to install packages for at least the major OSes
 - Interface builder (Glade)
 - Multiple existing CL bindings to choose from.
 - Many finished apps written with it

Though Jean-Francois may be right in saying that a polished GUI
toolkit may be a bit much for us to tackle
