Yes, I agree that's confusing.  I've been playing with the idea of
using the "kind of thing" distinction only internally and to only
use the tagging system for presenting information to the outside
world.  But that's a rather radical step.

At the moment we use the tagging system for those distinctions.  Have
a look at the tags in the Media branch, for example.

You may also want to try to submit some entries to get a feeling for
how the system works ;-)
