[CLD] A few notes after using the cld

Hello,

I've skimmed through the CLD a bit and i took some notes along the
way.

Some of them really are stylistic suggestions so i saved a page,
modified it and attached the result. I don't know if it is a good way
of contributing ideas : just C-s 'pfgomez' to find the portions i
modified. Some of them really belong to the css but i was lazy :)

Oh, and i'm not the graphic type, either :)

So here are a few random notes/suggestions :

* "My profile" : the lack of a submit button is a little
surprising. It does remember my email, though.

* I don't understand how Hot links are sorted : not by popularity
since it's Top's purpose and not by date of submission since it's
  New's one.

* I thought that Hot, New and Top were part of linkit, not the
directory. Am i wrong ? right ? The line between the two isn't
clear. Or is there a line anymore ? Maybe linkit should disappear
altogether, and be assimilated into CLD ?

* My preference would go to making "show where i am" the default :
imo, the tree's depth is small enough that it won't hinder me, and i
really like to see the Big Picture.

** Since it is a preference, it would be a good candidate for an option
   in the profile.

* (see attachment) I would turn the "items linked to this tag" into
the main portion of the page, its title being the tag and its
description, its content being the links as they are now, the
  sub-tags being moved after it.
The intent is to make me feel more like narrowing down my search.

* (see attachment) I would add a little indentation to the various
sections, so that it's clearer to distinguish one from another.

* I would rename "Related Items" to "Similar Items" : if i understand
correctly, this is the list of items with the same tags, isn't it ?

* (see attachment) I would make the "permalink" more like "hide where
i am" and "go directly to another tag".

* Discrete notes on tags/categories :
** I would add an "aggregators" sub-tag to "Blogs and personal pages"
** I would add a "wikis" sub-tag to "Web Sites"

* In the description for "Development Tools" and "By support" :
  s/Resourses/Resources/ (well, i think)

That's all, folks :)

ps: as for volunteering to add content, I'm Willing To (tm) populate
the "People" part of "People, Groups and Organizations" using the Road
to Lisp Survey but :
- i don't know if it is really wanted in the directory
- would it involve contacting each author to ask him, or would i
assume that since they put their RtL on the wiki, they already
agreed to appear in a public place such as the CLD ?
- i would only advance at a pace of about 10 RtL a week (free time,
  real life, etc...)
